Hemerocallis 'Lavender Tutu'

Hemerocallis 'Lavender Tutu'

Hemerocallis 'Lavender Tutu' needs to be seen close-up, and even then, you probably won’t believe what you’re seeing! In midsummer, each flower has a base colour that varies, depending on the age of the petals and the amount of direct sunlight, from lavender to dusky pink. But there is also a dramatic ruffled golden edge to the petals , and in the centre of the flower (the throat) we are hit with a gorgeous blast of chartreuse-green. This daylily is a stunner!

First released to the gardening public 13 years ago, this 'Lavender Tutu' daylily has proved to be a constant winner. At around just 60cm in height, it is suitable for the front of the border, where you can get to see these amazing flowers at close quarters.

Even better, Hemerocallis 'Lavender Tutu' often sends out a second flush of bloom towards the end of the summerand, as if this is not enough, they have a slight fragrance (unusual for daylilies). All of this means it is the perfect subject for planting in borders, beds and containersparticularly in smaller spaced gardens, where it appears in complete proportion.
