Hemerocallis 'Double Orange Zephyr'

Hemerocallis 'Double Orange Zephyr'

This brand-new Dutch-bred Hemerocallis 'Double Orange Zephyr' cultivar, launched in 2024, breaks the Daylily mould! Let’s start with the colourit’s the same intense shade as you find with orange juice, with darker orange veins to the petals. Then there is the flower itself: it’s double, packed with petals, and around 10cm across. Finally, we must consider the plant’s size: Daylily 'Double Orange Zephyr' is dwarf, at just around 45cm in height, and with arching mid-green sword-shaped leaves. Its flowers appear on stalks in midsummer. Even better, this vibrant newcomer to the daylily clan reblooms from late summer to early autumn, continuously proving that it is a plant to be noticed!

Daylilies are so-named because each flower lasts for just one day. However, the blooms come in profusion, on multiple flower spikes, and in sequence, so there is a glorious continuous display for several weeks. At such a small size, Hemerocallis 'Double Orange Zephyr' is perfect for edging paths, beautifying rock gardens, or for growing in patio containers, in full sun or part-shade. You can see why it has broken the Daylily mould!
