Astilbe 'Vision Volcano'

Astilbe 'Vision Volcano'

This is one of the strongest and most vibrantly-coloured cultivars of any Astilbe and you do not see it for sale very often! Astilbe 'Vision Volcano' will add vibrancy to any garden—it is slightly smaller than many astilbes, making it perfect for patio containers, or at the front of a border. It’s a stunning hardy perennial, with intense, bright pink flower plumes in summer. It is absolutely at its best in cooler climates, or where its flowers are protected from hot afternoon sun.

Also known as false goat’s beard or false spirea, Astilbe chinensis 'Vision Volcano' is a reliable garden favourite. Astilbes seem to love the British climate, despite the fact that they originate from eastern Asia and north-eastern America! They even tolerate quite heavy clay soils. If growing in a container make sure you do not let it the soil or compost dry out—but given this, ‘Visions Volcano’ will give weeks and weeks of pleasure. Oh, and this Astilbe even makes an excellent flower for cutting, fresh or dried.
