Astilbe 'Vision in White Delight'

Astilbe 'Vision in White Delight'

Introduced to the gardening world only quite recently, Astilbe 'Vision in White Delight' is a gorgeous astilbe with wonderful creamy-white flower plumes in summer. These plumes rise above branching stems 45-75cm in height. A sturdy, upright plant, Astilbe 'Vision in White Delight' makes a neat mound of glossy, dark green, serrated leaves, that are flushed bronze when young. These are held by strong, wiry stems and leaf stalks.

Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in White Delight' is a hardy perennial, and will grow best at the wet edges around ponds, or any soil that does not dry out. If you are a keen flower arranger, the plumes last well indoors in a vase, too.  Astilbes, also known as false goat’s beards or false spireas, are reliable garden favourites. Despite originally coming from eastern Asia and north-eastern America, Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in White Delight' do perform extremely well in our British climate. They even tolerate quite heavy clay soils. Oh, and if you live in the country and are plagued by visiting rabbits; they won’t touch this astilbe!
