Iris 'How Audacious'
During late spring and early summer, the spectacular flowers of Iris siberica 'How Audacious' open to create a magnificent display, and they’ll create a real talking point with their amazing colour combinations. Starting at the centre of each bloom, you will see a lovely lime-yellow transcending into white, and then to a royal blue, before eventually becoming a dramatic vivid purple, often with thin, white, slightly ruffled edges. The central petals (or standards) of Iris siberica 'How Audacious' are purple.
This Siberian iris, with mature stems at a height of around 70cm, is the perfect perennial for adding elegance and charm to borders, containers or at the edge of a pond or stream. And don’t forget these blooms make a stunning cut-flower display as well. How audacious indeed!
The slim and graceful sword-shaped dark green foliage only enhances the elegance of this cultivar. Although Iris siberica 'How Audacious' is best in a rich, fertile soil, Siberian irises generally will perform well in lean or hungry soils, too.
