Dahlia 'Zahra'
The newly introduced Dahlia 'Zahra' is still relatively hard to get hold of in the UK, which is why we are especially thrilled to be offering it to our customers this spring. Dahlia 'Zahra' is an anemone-flowered dahlia with dazzling blooms of up to 12cm across, their creamy powderpuff centres surrounded by several layers of flat, pure white petals. The latter feature creates a softly tousled look, and means this variety fits well with informal, naturalistic plants such as those found in our Piet Oudolf inspired range.
We recommend potting your Dahlia 'Zahra' tubers up as soon as they arrive, and, if this is before the last risk of frost has passed, keeping them in a cool, frost-free environment until it is safe to plant them outside (usually around mid to late May). Pinch out the growing tips when they reach around 20cm tall for extra bushy and floriferous plants.
