Dahlia 'Brown Sugar'
Dahlia 'Brown Sugar' is a new cultivar of pompon dahlia (or ball dahlia) with richly-coloured flowers that are rounded, fully double, and with partly incurved petals. Its 10cm wide blooms are a beautiful, bright copper-orange, darkening to rich copper-red and brown towards the centre. Dahlia 'Brown Sugar' grows to a medium height of 90-120cm, so it is ideal for beds and borders, or even patio containers. Its straight stems make it eminently suitable for cutting for indoor display – as well as the show bench!
Flowers start to open in July, and continue coming until the first frosts of autumn. The warm copper brown colours of Dahlia 'Brown Sugar' are certainly appropriate colours for autumn, too, and look particularly at home next to tall grasses and late-summer and autumn flowering perennials, including asters. This new, perky, floriferous dahlia will not disappoint.
